You could add two more:
ReplyDeleteBy going to war in Iraq we wasted the international goodwill that we had after 9/11.
We also wasted the goodwill of our own young men who enlisted by the handfuls immediately after 9/11 for patriotic and righteous reasons, only to find themselves as Iraqi policemen trying to quell a civil war. Now we need more monetary lures to keep the eligible enlisting.
